Simple Gluten-Free Yogurt Parfait (Dairy-Free Option)

Setting the Table

This is something I eat often. Sometimes for breakfast. Sometimes as a snack. Sometimes later in the day when I want something steady and familiar.

It’s simple, filling, and easy to adjust. And because I pay close attention to added sugar, it’s a combination that feels supportive without requiring much thought once you know what to look for.

Yogurt and granola can be tricky. Many options are sweetened in ways that add up quickly. Over time, I’ve found a few unsweetened staples that work well for me, and this parfait is one way I bring them together.

Ingredients for a dairy-free yogurt parfait, including dairy-free yogurt, gluten-free granola, blueberries, and a prepared parfait in a glass dish.

What You’ll Need

Here’s what I use and why.

Unsweetened dairy-free yogurt

These are the only two I’ve consistently found that meet my criteria:

  • SO Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla

  • Kite Hill Plain Unsweetened

Each serving has:

  • 1 gram total sugar

  • 0 grams added sugar

Granola (measured intentionally)

  • Udi’s Almond Butter Granola

  • I use ¼ cup

At that portion, the granola alone contains:

  • 4 grams added sugar

  • 5 grams total sugar

(That number refers just to the granola, not the entire parfait.)

Fruit

  • Berries or fresh fruit work well

  • I often use blueberries

A Simple Note About Sugar

Yogurt and granola can vary widely when it comes to added sugar. Measuring granola helps keep things predictable, especially if you’re trying to be mindful without overthinking every meal.

This combination keeps added sugar relatively low while still feeling satisfying and familiar.

Creating the Parfait

  • Spoon yogurt into a bowl or glass

  • Add fruit

  • Sprinkle granola on top

  • Repeat if you enjoy layers, or keep it simple with one

There’s no special order required. Do what feels easiest.

Seasoning with Wisdom

Knowing what’s in the foods you eat can bring a sense of calm and confidence into everyday choices. When you find combinations that work for your body and your routine, they tend to show up naturally again and again.

Planning Ahead

This parfait works well on the go.

If you’re packing it for lunch or an afternoon snack:

  • Put the yogurt and blueberries in one container and the granola in another

  • Add the granola just before eating

That keeps the texture fresh and makes it easy to assemble wherever you are.

Serving My Final Thoughts

This simple parfait is one small example of how paying attention to ingredients—especially added sugar—can shape everyday habits in quiet, manageable ways. It’s flexible, familiar, and easy to return to whenever you need it.
